The Gryphons are the Ice Hockey club for all universities in Leeds, since the founding of the team in 2015.
We welcome members of all skills, as well as players completely new to the sport. We have several squads: checking, non-checking, development. This way, players can participate at level that suits them the best while enjoying both an active university life and playing ice hockey. The skill level of our players varies from absolute beginners, to junior internationals and league players, but we cater the trainings needs of all, and make sure we offer an equally balanced social experience.
Going into their fifth year of existance, the Gryphons will be looking to add to their already impressive list of silverware: four conference and two division titles, as well as a participation in a Nationals Final.

After a undefeated campaign in Div 2 Checking North, The 'new look' Leeds Gryphons As are back and ready to fight hard in the highest tier of BUIHA hockey - Div 1 Checking. They may be the newer kids on the block, but they know how to play!

The Leeds Gryphons Bs formed in the club's second ever year; most recently winning the 2017-18 Div 2 Non-Checking Conference and Playoff title. This year, they will be fierce opposition in Div 1 Non-Checking. Taking on players after their first year of ice hockey, they're a competitive, fun and determined team!

After a heartbreaking defeat, in the finals, ended their 2018-19 Tier 6 Nationals campaign, the adorable hatchlings of Leeds Gryphons C are all grown up and this season are hoping to be a force to be reckoned with as they enter their first Cup Competition - Div 3 Non-Checking!

With the success of the C team and the growing numbers joining the club, the Gryphons are expanding for the 2019-20 season with the introduction of a new 'D'evelopment team to home the newest hatchings of the Gryphons family. This team will compete in challenge matches across the year against fellow BUIHA development teams, with the aim to develop players towards playing for one of our 3 Cup Competition teams!
