UCL Yetis B

1 - UCL Yetis B New Entry

W: 8D: 0L: 1GF: 100GA: 20GD: +80PP%: 14.3PK%: 90.5
Pts: Edwards (29) G: Yolland (16) A: Edwards (16) SAV%: Tree (0.92)
UCL Yetis B
The Yetis B are undefeated this season in Division 2 South non-checking. They have to be considered firm favourites with a record like that. I appreciate that they are now going head to head with some teams from the division above, but the Goal Difference tells the story of a dominant side who are capable of winning Tier IV.
Imperial Devils B

2 - Imperial Devils B New Entry

W: 3D: 1L: 5GF: 38GA: 73GD: -35PP%: 16.7PK%: 66.7
Pts: Kent (13) G: Kent (12) A: Chan (4) SAV%: Zimmerman (0.94)
Imperial Devils B
The Devils C finished second last in Division 1 South Non-Checking. They did take a couple of hammerings along the way from the top of the table teams, but I do not doubt Tier IV is where they can make their mark. Imperial's B team will be looking to give the rest of the pack an insight into Division 1 hockey.
Northumbria Kings C

3 - Northumbria Kings C Down 1

W: 7D: 1L: 7GF: 64GA: 106GD: -42PP%: 26.3PK%: 74.1
Pts: Watson (39) G: Watson (27) A: Watson (12) SAV%: West (0.89)
Northumbria Kings C
This team finished a respectable third in Division 2 Non-Checking North behind two teams that held the division to ransom. As I have already said the Kings brand is a force in the non-checking ranks and fuelled by Mrs Ivill's home baked goods I would not bet against a final appearance or more.
Sheffield Bears Women

4 - Sheffield Bears Women New Entry

W: 0 D: 0 L: 0 GF: 0 GA: 0 GD: 0 PP%: 0.00 PK%: 0.00
Pts: N/A G: N/A A: N/A SAV%: N/A
Sheffield Bears Women
This new entry is going in high. Most of us who have attended Nationals previously know that Sheffield have a big pool of players of either gender that are enthusiastic and have hockey brains. I feel this team are going to be a surprise package in front of their home crowd.
Nottingham Mavericks D

5 - Nottingham Mavericks D New Entry

W: 0D: 0L: 2GF: 7GA: 31GD: -24PP%: 0.0PK%: 0.0
Pts: Jeff (3) G: Whitehead (2) A: Ryley (1) SAV%: Thornton (0.81)
Nottingham Mavericks D
Two things about Nottingham are constant. The first is Simon Hopkins' short and gilet combo and the other is they know how to play the game of ice hockey. If they can shake of the beating they took from the Avalanche then they should be a tough team to beat. Ever since the bad old days of Captain Keith and the BUIHA forum the D Mavs have been an outside bet at champs and this year should be no different.
Sheffield Bears D

6 - Sheffield Bears D Down 2

W: 3D: 1L: 8GF: 48GA: 129GD: -81PP%: 15.8PK%: 87.5
Pts: Carratt (17) G: Carratt (14) A: Wilson (6) SAV%: Parker (0.81)
Sheffield Bears D
Bears D might be a tad offended being ranked below two non-cup teams, but they they limp into to champs with 3 victories from 9 and finished the season with a big 24-1 loss only one week before the puck drop in Nationals. I do not think they are ready to hibernate just yet in their own back yard, so underestimate them at your peril.
Bradford Sabres B

7 - Bradford Sabres B New Entry

W: 0D: 0L: 10GF: 27GA: 160GD: -133PP%: 16.7PK%: 57.1
Pts: Passmore (18) G: Passmore (18) A: Broadley (4) SAV%: kaspar (0.75)
Bradford Sabres B
The Sabres finished dead last in Division 1 North Non-Checking with exactly no wins in ten and should not come to Nationals thinking that Tier IV will be a step down. They do have a good scorer in the aptly named Matthew Passmore who has 18 goals and 18 points. If he can produce that form in the smash and grab format of tournament play then they may have a shot, but like their NHL namesakes I think they might have to settle for rebuild mode.
Newcastle Wildcats Womens

8 - Newcastle Wildcats Womens Down 5

W: 2D: 0L: 8GF: 42GA: 105GD: -63PP%: 9.1PK%: 85.7
Pts: Towns (25) G: Towns (17) A: Towns (8) SAV%: Boulton (0.80)
Newcastle Wildcats Womens
They have not had the quality of season they had in 2014-15 and it really shows with their poor record, but they do have some game breakers on offence. If Stephanie 'run this' Towns , Amy 'full tin of' Campbell(s) and Melissa 'Van' Gough can produce the fire power that has seen each of them average over a point per game then they may surprise with the caveat that their defense must keep it tight behind them.
Birmingham Lions C

9 - Birmingham Lions C Non Mover

W: 1D: 0L: 10GF: 15GA: 179GD: -164PP%: 0.0PK%: 55.6
Pts: Constable (9) G: Constable (9) A: Douglas (3) SAV%: Thewlis (0.68)
Birmingham Lions C
Finished last in Division 2 North Non-Checking, but finished strongly with a final day victory against the Wildcats Womens team. Champs is about peaking at the right time and the win good be a showing of that, but it is more likely to a one off in what has otherwise dismal season. They will party, but I don't see them celebrating come Sunday evening.
Cardiff Redhawks B

10 - Cardiff Redhawks B Down 4

W: 0D: 0L: 10GF: 15GA: 163GD: -148PP%: 0.0PK%: 58.3
Pts: Hubback (6) G: Hubback (5) A: Knight (2) SAV%: Swistun (0.86)
Cardiff Redhawks B
Toasted, spread thin, mouldy and sliced the Breadhawks have been all kinds of bad this year. I accept that they have been playing in the higher of the Divisions on display this weekend, but with a goal difference of minus 148 they are lucky to not have fused the goal lamp in their new home. Their only hope is to draw inspiration from Fraser 'don't call me baby' Lewis.... OK it is not their only hope, but it was the only way to shoe horn the young man in to my poor banter.
Southampton Spitfires C

11 - Southampton Spitfires C New Entry

W: 3D: 2L: 3GF: 32GA: 52GD: -20PP%: 18.2PK%: 90.9
Pts: Griffey (10) G: Griffey (8) A: Bruins (5) SAV%: Lowther (0.82)
Southampton Spitfires C
The Spitfires C season appears to a bit of a non-event with only a handful of games completed. Their last outing was on 5th March in which the Yetis B were all over their radar and game away with a 21-0 win. They will have to get a quick score to get some confidence, as they have not managed to score since 23rd January.
Cambridge Womens Blues

12 - Cambridge Womens Blues Down 2

W: 0D: 1L: 8GF: 26GA: 111GD: -85PP%: 13.3PK%: 66.7
Pts: Warner (11) G: Warner (9) A: Dobson (4) SAV%: Love (0.69)
Cambridge Womens Blues
Sky Blue has been the deepest shade of the blues in the non-checking ranks this year I am afraid. The Cambridge outfit have not really been able to get anything going and their last memory from the season will be a one sided varsity defeat to Oxford. They can chip in a goal or two now and again and if they can be solid defensively they may surprise me, but right now I just cannot see it happening.
