Sheffield Bears C

1 - Sheffield Bears C Up 4

W: 9D: 1L: 0GF: 118GA: 22GD: +96PP%: 31.3PK%: 94.7
Pts: Renzi (33) G: Renzi (26) A: Wakelin (15) SAV%: Bevan (0.90)
Sheffield Bears C
The home town Bears C look ready to bring the house down in Nationals if their recent playoff game is anything to go by and assuming Jack Meadows is in checking (for more on Jack Meadows look up his stats/my tier 2 power rankings). With players like Pirie, Ghaemi and Carratt among others springing to mind as game changers (though Carratt for perhaps the wrong reasons) I feel that they will not let Nationals slip through their paws like they did with the playoff final.
Manchester Metrostars B

2 - Manchester Metrostars B Non Mover

W: 8D: 1L: 1GF: 141GA: 44GD: +97PP%: 72.7PK%: 66.7
Pts: MacKinnon (79) G: Hapgood (42) A: MacKinnon (57) SAV%: Heywood (0.91)
Manchester Metrostars B
Is it Matthew Rohani or is it Will McKenzie out there? Whoever it is these guys are no 'Inbetweeners' heading into this Nationals and are clearly one of the favourites. You've all heard the fabled tales of Coventry's scoring star, but Manchester have three players sitting 2nd, 3rd and 4th in the non-checking division 1 stats. If Andrew MacKinCAN then the Metrostars will HAPGOOD Nationals. That previous sentence may read like gibberish, but if you look up the stats you'll understand.
Leeds Gryphons

3 - Leeds Gryphons New Entry

W: 11D: 0L: 0GF: 178GA: 18GD: +160PP%: 37.0PK%: 87.5
Pts: Irish (102) G: Irish (84) A: Irish (18) SAV%: Corbani (0.95)
Leeds Gryphons
This team narrowly misses out on a higher ranking due to being a Division 2 team in a higher tier tournament, but their stats and dominance cannot be ignored. The Gryphons are no 'Family Guys' though with Joshua Irish providing the bulk of their scoring prowess. However, the rest of the team cannot be ignored, because as a team they scored 171 and Irish only got just over half of them. An 85 goal season is not to be sniffed at.
Nottingham Mavericks C

4 - Nottingham Mavericks C New Entry

W: 8D: 0L: 2GF: 191GA: 17GD: +174PP%: 45.5PK%: 76.2
Pts: Notaro (45) G: Notaro (35) A: Guest (18) SAV%: Betts (1.00)
Nottingham Mavericks C
Leeds may have been 10-0 in Division 2 Non-Checking, but the Mavericks C have been almost impressive and even have twenty more goals than Leeds. They are deep too with several players contributing to the 191 goals scored this season. They also only conceded 17 (the same as Leeds) and so do not sacrifice their defensive duties. They may be a wild card, but like Mel Gibson you just have a feeling there will be an ace in the hole for this team.
Southampton Spitfires B

5 - Southampton Spitfires B New Entry

W: 8D: 1L: 1GF: 115GA: 32GD: +83PP%: 78.9PK%: 82.4
Pts: Gillbe (35) G: Gillbe (21) A: Betts (15) SAV%: Mead (0.89)
Southampton Spitfires B
This team has a very good record in Division 1 South Non-Checking and in fact as the stats are even on points with the Playoff winning Panthers (though forfeits and missing game sheets play a factor in that). Any teams wanting to get rough with this team should think again as this team own an unreal 78% power play record. With respectable defensive stats and good special teams stats they could sneak under the radar into the semis.
Birmingham Lions B

6 - Birmingham Lions B Non Mover

W: 6D: 0L: 4GF: 100GA: 59GD: +41PP%: 28.0PK%: 82.4
Pts: Charest (58) G: Charest (47) A: Swift (14) SAV%: Thewlis (0.89)
Birmingham Lions B
The lowest ranked team with a winning record, but looking at the form card they come in with two defeats to the Sheffield Bears B to their name in which they were outscored 22-6, so they need a real turn around in fortunes quick. The good news for them is that they get a long lie on Sunday and nobody wants to wake a sleeping Lion.
Imperial Devils

7 - Imperial Devils New Entry

W: 2D: 0L: 7GF: 41GA: 76GD: -35PP%: 19.4PK%: 60.9
Pts: Marquis (29) G: Marquis (17) A: Marquis (12) SAV%: Henne (0.83)
Imperial Devils
Hmmm. I thought their B team would be in this tier, but I was wrong. I am feel I am being brave ranking Imperial Devils A this low especially with stats leading goaltender Karl Zimmerman minding the twine (who appears to be equally adept at bagging goals in checking). If the like of Marquis are in this tournament then this team will be real contenders.
London Dragons B

8 - London Dragons B New Entry

W: 4D: 1L: 5GF: 48GA: 62GD: -14PP%: 5.6PK%: 83.3
Pts: Balko (15) G: Balko (9) A: Balko (6) SAV%: Birmingham (0.87)
London Dragons B
It will be strange seeing a Dragons team not trying to bash everyone with checks as I am used to, but regrettably for them I do not see them bashing anyone on the scoreboard with their record. They come in with back to back defeats and do not appear to be 'firing' at all. KALLE-eesi might want to put these guys back underground after this weekend. (I knew I'd manage more GOT references).
Coventry and Warwick Panthers B

9 - Coventry and Warwick Panthers B Down 6

W: 3D: 1L: 2GF: 31GA: 20GD: +11PP%: 0.0PK%: 80.0
Pts: rinne (9) G: rinne (6) A: simmons (4) SAV%: Hamilton (0.79)
Coventry and Warwick Panthers B
I am clueless as to who will turn out in each competition for the Panthers' teams, so I really have to guess that their B team entry will not vary greatly from their Division 2 Non-Checking entry. If that is the case this team will be pretty rusty having only completed four of their cup fixtures. They've only had a couple of games in 2016 and they seem to be loose in their own zone, so I think they'll be available to escort Mogli out of the jungle come semi final time (incidentally their is a Cineworld not far from the rink, but I digress). I will add the caveat that if they do have a couple of the A boys then they will be a totally different side and I am not prepared to rank them much lower as a result of that.
Oxford Womens Blues

10 - Oxford Womens Blues Down 6

W: 5D: 0L: 6GF: 70GA: 127GD: -57PP%: 14.3PK%: 64.3
Pts: Lawrence (55) G: Lawrence (45) A: Lawrence (10) SAV%: Perkio (0.81)
Oxford Womens Blues
Oxford finished the cup season with a solid win over Cardiff and comfortably dispatched of Cambridge in their varsity, but prior to that they hadn't tasted victory since 29th November and had been blown away in most of the matches. J-Law is still their main scorer with 36 goals bagged this year, however they have been sloppy defensively and come into nationals with the most goals against out of all the teams and unless they can shut up shop fast in D then they will will not stand a chance.
Newcastle Wildcats B

11 - Newcastle Wildcats B Down 1

W: 3D: 1L: 6GF: 59GA: 73GD: -14PP%: 6.3PK%: 64.7
Pts: Smith (31) G: Ballard (13) A: Smith (20) SAV%: Henderson (0.76)
Newcastle Wildcats B
The Wildcat B team's last goal in Sheffield was 368 days ago and counting (written on 14th April 2016) thanks to their final game of the season being a 9-0 shutout loss. They could surprise me, but I am afraid I do not think their talented scorers of Smith, Gunn and Ballard will be enough for a PURR-fect weekend hockey wise.
Hull Ice Hogs B

12 - Hull Ice Hogs B New Entry

W: 2D: 1L: 7GF: 28GA: 115GD: -87PP%: 18.2PK%: 59.1
Pts: Hazel (18) G: Hazel (14) A: Hazel (4) SAV%: Cook (0.87)
Hull Ice Hogs B
Smoked Hog Roast anyone? This team last won a match on 21st January 2016 and after that have been outscored 77-16 to finish off the season. They come into Nationals with the fewest goals scored out of everyone entering Tier 3 and whilst they are not the worst defensively have not been great in that department either. Doing the sums nothing is coming up Ice Hogs this year.
