London Dragons

1 - London Dragons Up 3

W: 9D: 2L: 0GF: 99GA: 38GD: +61PP%: 63.2PK%: 78.3
Pts: Kaunisto (33) G: Kaunisto (20) A: Arnold (17) SAV%: Andrew (0.88)
London Dragons
Well... Where do I begin? Hopefully they have recovered after demolishing Nottingham in one of the most one sided playoff finals to date. Between their strong forward lines and solid defensive lines they are an exceptionally difficult team to beat. It was however seen that they have the maturity to 'take the high road' and not rise to altercations... Either that or they are becoming soft. Either way, they're definitely deserving of a number 1 spot in this year's Power Rankings.
Cambridge Blues

2 - Cambridge Blues Up 4

W: 7D: 2L: 2GF: 84GA: 40GD: +44PP%: 36.0PK%: 94.1
Pts: Finch (47) G: Finch (29) A: Geerts (20) SAV%: Orvomaa (1.00)
Cambridge Blues
A good season by the Blues, who can boast about having the two top point scorers in Division 1 South. Cambridge started the season rather slow, losing their only games in the first month but remained undefeated throughout the rest of the season. Known at Nationals for two things; being polite and the yeti man. These won't be enough to make any kind of impression at this competition.
St Andrews Typhoons

3 - St Andrews Typhoons Down 1

W: 13D: 0L: 0GF: 99GA: 11GD: +88PP%: 38.5PK%: 100.0
Pts: McCarthy (19) G: Ganss (14) A: Hauger (10) SAV%: Hollingsworth (0.97)
St Andrews Typhoons
A perfect season it would seem. Having thoroughly dominated Division 2 North, the Typhoons once again make the step up to Division 1 for an opportunity to show that they are the strongest team in the country. They once again showed their strength with another victory over their northern rivals remaining undefeated at home against Edinburgh. I toyed with the idea of placing them above Cambridge but as they struggled to make it out of the group stages last year, they haven't proved they can consistently win at this level. Prove me wrong.
Sheffield Bears

4 - Sheffield Bears Down 3

W: 6D: 1L: 3GF: 68GA: 33GD: +35PP%: 22.6PK%: 95.7
Pts: Ho (20) G: Ho (12) A: Williamson (10) SAV%: Lee (0.96)
Sheffield Bears
BEARS BEARS BEARS! An overall good season where they once again proved they were a power house up front. Sheffield always come to Nationals determined to prove a point in front of their home crowd and regularly make it through the group stages. For them to make any of mark they will need Ho and Gray to be on the top of their game. If not... Well there's always a bar upstairs.
Edinburgh Eagles

5 - Edinburgh Eagles Down 2

W: 7D: 2L: 5GF: 62GA: 44GD: +18PP%: 31.6PK%: 75.8
Pts: Eng (17) G: Selles (11) A: Eng (14) SAV%: Ricketti (0.93)
Edinburgh Eagles
As much as it pains me... Edinburgh have had a fall from grace this year and have struggled to make a mark in the North. After losing a lot of their veteran players at the end of last season, their team is currently very different to recent years. They need their recently married Canadian to rally his troops and motivate them if they are to regain their previous year's form... Either that or hope their bald headed mascot coming down to support brings with him a world of good luck.
Nottingham Mavericks

6 - Nottingham Mavericks Down 1

W: 10D: 0L: 1GF: 58GA: 34GD: +24PP%: 20.7PK%: 64.0
Pts: Räthbone (17) G: Räthbone (11) A: Leon (9) SAV%: Porter (0.92)
Nottingham Mavericks
An undefeated season. A humiliating play-off. Have a seat in the bottom half of the table. A very strong season built on their ability to keep goals out having only conceded 19 times in 600 minutes was put into question when they conceded 15 goals in 60. If they stand any chance of making it out of the group stages they need to drastically improve within a week. If a team is to do well they have to want to play for each other and seeing them in the play-off I don't believe they do.
Northumbria Kings A

7 - Northumbria Kings A New Entry

W: 3D: 3L: 5GF: 45GA: 46GD: -1PP%: 24.0PK%: 83.3
Pts: Perrie (23) G: Perrie (14) A: Perrie (9) SAV%: McGuckin (0.85)
Northumbria Kings A
Welcome back! After a few years away from the Show, Northumbria come crawling back, like a poor student at the end of term. They had a solid return to the cup competition, finishing with 2 wins and a respectable GD. Looking through the individual stats, there are a lot of players that need to step up this week as they can't rely on 3 players to do all of the work for them.
Manchester Metrostars

8 - Manchester Metrostars Down 1

W: 3D: 0L: 8GF: 35GA: 66GD: -31PP%: 20.0PK%: 62.5
Pts: Gunn (18) G: Gunn (8) A: Lowry (10) SAV%: Pearson (0.89)
Manchester Metrostars
Are they in yet? A phrase this team hear weekly but we ask ourselves yearly. Their desire to win this year's competition can be questioned after their attempt to sneak their top point scorer into this year's Division 1 Non-Checking competition but we'll forgive them all the same. It is important for Manchester to stay positive and use their power players to gain them precious goals if they have any chance of making a mark in the competition.
Oxford University Blues

9 - Oxford University Blues New Entry

W: 2D: 1L: 8GF: 46GA: 91GD: -45PP%: 16.1PK%: 68.0
Pts: Bardai (22) G: Bardai (16) A: McGlynn (9) SAV%: Koch (0.91)
Oxford University Blues
A tough year for Oxford who struggled to make an impression in the cup competition. Although I know their egos will be considerably hit, sitting at the opposite end of the table from their fierce rivals, they need a serious change in fortune to get them out of the group stages... Or hope that everyone else is drawn in by the bright lights of Sheffield's night life.
Southampton Spitfires

10 - Southampton Spitfires Down 2

W: 0D: 5L: 5GF: 7GA: 31GD: -24PP%: 0.0PK%: 66.7
Pts: Tyrell (3) G: Tilden (2) A: Daag (2) SAV%: Moravek (0.85)
Southampton Spitfires
Word on the street is... Southampton are going to come to Division 1 Nationals. I'll believe it when I see it. Before they withdrew from the cup competition completely, Southampton had managed to score only 7 goals in 5 games and struggled to make an impression even against the lower placed teams. They have relied on the same player in recent years to drag them through to the later stages but if he isn't available, maybe they can have a team trip to the cinema after their 4th game? However... Anything can happen at Nationals and I hope that Southampton pull it out of the bag on the day.
